In a crackdown on drug peddlers, police have arrested six persons, including three from other States, in separate operations conducted by Bommanahalli, City Market, D.J. Halli, and Baiyappanahalli police. This person seized 25.37 kg of ganja, 20 grams of MDMA, and 7 grams of hydro ganja.
The seized narcotic substances have an estimated value of ₹14.94 lakh, while their market value is pegged at ₹29.88 lakh.
Acting on credible information received from informants on different dates about the sale of narcotic substances within their respective jurisdictions, police registered cases under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and raided certain locations.
Six accused persons were apprehended in separate cases. Three of them are from other States.
According to police, during interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to procuring narcotic substances within and outside Karnataka, and selling them to people in Bengaluru, including to college students.
Police are attempting to identify and trace the alleged suppliers who provided the narcotics to the arrested persons. Further investigation is underway.
All six accused were produced in court on different dates. They were subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
