On Saturday, the Steelers signed defensive back Doneiko Slaughter to their 53-man roster, elevated running back Lew Nichols and wide receiver Brandon Smith to the active/inactive roster for the Week 5 game against the Colts, and officially placed wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. On injured reserve.
