Tata Sons Private Ltd., the holding company of the Tata Group, adjourned its Annual General Gathering (AGM) scheduled for Tuesday (August 18, 2026) due to lack of quorum, people familiar with the development remarked. The Board will likely meet in a few weeks to decide on the next date.

The gathering was held at 2.30 p.m. at Bombay House, the headquarters of Tata Sons.

Tata Sons Chairperson N. Chandrasekaran, who had announced not to continue after February 2027, was seen arriving at the Bombay House for the gathering. But the meeting was eventually adjoined after a 30-minute break as the requisite quorum could not be met.

Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT), the second largest shareholder in Tata Sons, could not nominate a member for the gathering due to regularly curbs from Maharashtra Charity Commissioner.

The AGM was to consider the financial statements of FY26, the dividend approved by the Board, and the reappointment of Mr. Chandrasekaran as a member of the Board.
