While one petition questioning the decision of the Speaker was filed by the Bharatiya Janata Legislature Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy, the second one was filed by BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy.
Notably, a total of 10 writ petitions were filed challenging the dismissal of disqualification petitions against nine MLAS. Meanwhile, the division bench headed by the Chief Justice heard the contentions presented by advocates Gandra Mohan Rao and K. Vivek Reddy for the two petitioners and A. Tulsi Raj Gokul for the Assembly Speaker, standing counsel for State Legislature. The arguments in the case of the other eight MLAs would continue from September 16.
