Towels recorded the strongest month-over-month expansion among the major textile categories, with exports jumping 60.35 percent to $106.36 million. Created up articles, excluding towels and bedwear, climbed 58.51 percent to $77.21 million.
Although they were marginally lower year over year, cotton cloth exports rose 26.27 percent month over month to $141.59 million. Cotton yarn exports rose 3.91 percent to $66.53 million and were 18.69 percent higher than a year earlier.

Raw cotton imports fell 15.37 percent month over month to $186.34 million but rose 30.01 percent year over year. While worn clothing imports rose 6.30 percent to $62.36 million, imports of synthetic and artificial silk yarn rose 43 percent month over month to $125.84 million.
