Three arrested for attempting to stab youth in Washermenpet

Three men have been arrested for stabbing and attempting to murder a 20-year-old loadman, following a dispute involving his friend, in Washermenpet.

The three persons arrested are Venkat, 23, and Appu, 23, of Washermenpet; and Karthik, 32, of Park Town.

The victim has been identified as Vijay of Portuguese Church Street in Washermenpet. When his friend Nithish visited a Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board tenement on Old Jail Road on Sunday night, a few men, including Karthik and Appu, allegedly questioned him about his presence, assaulted him, and sent him away.

Nithish afterwards informed Vijay about the incident, according to the police. When they went to the housing complex to confront the gang, they abused Vijay, attacked him with a knife, and threatened to kill him.

Vijay. This person sustained serious injuries, was admitted to the Stanley Government Hospital. Based on his complaint, the police launched an investigation and arrested three suspects on Monday.
