The infant was diagnosed with Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC) in a congenital heart disease screening camp organised by G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital (GKNM) in Tiruchi on August 8.

In this condition, the pulmonary veins that normally carry oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the left side of the heart connect abnormally to the right side, resulting in abnormal mixing of blood and low oxygen levels.
