Professional Cell inaugurated
The Department of Management Studies of St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Chunkankadai, in association with Trivandrum Management Association (TMA), inaugurated a Professional Cell to provide students with opportunities for professional development, industry interaction, leadership development and innovative thinking.
A.V. Satheesh, office-in-charge, Nuclear Information Centre, Kudankulam, was the chief guest and addressed the students. He highlighted the importance of integrating technological advancement with leadership, innovative thinking and marketing knowledge. He exhorted the students to develop the competencies required to transform emerging technologies into viable business opportunities.
Nature Conservation Day
Sri Kamakshi Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School in partnership with the Department of Zoology of V.O. Chidambaram College, Thoothukudi celebrated the Nature Conservation Day at the school campus with great enthusiasm and awareness.
Faculty members K. Krishna Priya, S. Benazir Begum, C. Parthiban and students from the VOC College participated in the celebration. As part of the programme, they conducted an awareness session for the students on nature conservation, biodiversity and the importance of protecting birds and other living organisms. An informative powerpoint presentation was also given to the students, highlighting the importance of protecting forest, water resources, wildlife and biodiversity.
Centres of Excellence inaugurated
National Engineering College in association with Mistral Solutions inaugurated seven Centres of Excellence on the college campus.
C. Manikandan, Chief Executive Officer, Mistral Solutions attended the event as chief guest. Addressing the students, he explained various advanced technologies including drone based technologies for border security, defense applications, simulation technologies for Indian Army and projects related to BrahMos and millimetre-wave radar technology.
The Centres of Excellence inaugurated were CEDAR in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, VISTA in the Department of Computer Science Engineering, IGNITE and RADION in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NEXUS in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SHIELD in the Department of Information Technology and SENSE AI in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
Independence Day celebrations
The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at SPIC Nagar Higher Secondary School, Thoothukudi.
The campus came alive with colourful and energetic performances that showcased India’s rich heritage.
School President P. Senthil Nayagam, School Secretary T.S. Prem, Headmaster L. Babu Radhakrishnan and other staff and students of the school were present during the celebrations.
