TNSTC-Coimbatore Ltd., accelerates operational efficiency through training programmes

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC-Coimbatore Ltd.) is training its technical and managerial staff to improve efficiency. Recently, 180 employees underwent training on maintenance of buses being introduced with latest technology.

So far this year, 319 new buses have been went on to the fleet, and 104 buses have been refurbished, said K. While taking part in the Independence Day celebrations.

Another 180 employees underwent training for brake maintenance, and 100 workers were trained in electric and battery maintenance, mohamed Nazar, Managing Director, TNSTC-Coimbatore Ltd.. About 180 workers were sensitised to diesel optimisation by trainers from Ashok Leyland.

Additionally, training programmes are being conducted for engineers, supervisors, and branch managers to achieve managerial efficiency, the MD stated.

Over the next few days, employees will be imparted training in maintaining Air-Conditioned and CNG buses by experts drawn from Rane Brake Lining, Webco Air System, and Setco Clutch India. For training in fuel decanting safety procedures, the TNSTC has sought the support of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Mr. Nazar said.

The transport corporation has received ₹92 crore in subsidy from the State administration. The 1,006 trips operated by the TNSTC-Coimbatore Ltd. on city routes benefitted 10.30 lakh women travellers on a daily basis, he added.
