Fans flooded the Oxford airport as Lane Kiffin prepared to leave Ole Miss in one of college football's wildest moments.

That included shouting some colorful language on national television moments after the ninth-ranked Rebels upset the seventh-ranked Tigers 32-24 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 19.

"Hotty (expletive) Toddy!" Chambliss remarked on his way off the camera from a postgame interview with ESPN's Holly Rowe.

Afterwards, Chambliss apologized for his profanity while speaking to reporters in a post-game news conference.

"I obtained kind of caught up in the moment of the interview. That's not who I am, " Chambliss remarked. "So, I deeply, deeply apologize to Holly Rowe and everyone out there that was listening. That's not who I am, so I'm sorry regarding that."

As the former Division II quarterback escaped for a 14-yard rushing touchdown with 6: 14 remaining in the fourth quarter – the lone successful scoring drive from Ole Miss in the second half, chambliss played the hero for the Rebels' second top-10-ranked win in the Pete Golding era.

As Jaylon Braxton caught LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt's deflected final pass of the night on fourth-and-goal for a game-sealing interception in the end zone, ole Miss' defense locked the victory down from there.

As he completed 21-of-27 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns, both of which were for 20-plus yards to Traylon Ray and Deuce Alexander, chambliss was on fire in the first half. He finished 33-of-48 for 363 yards on the night with three total touchdowns and an interception.

Saturday's win moves Ole Miss' record to 24-1 in home games since 2023, an impressive record that Kiffin began in his turnaround of the Rebels program before he bolted for the Tigers this past offseason. The Rebels additionally hand Kiffin another loss against a top-10-ranked opponent on the road.
