UET Peshawar Completes First Phase of HEC Mentoring Program

In practice, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar has completed the first phase of the Higher Education Commission's (HEC) Mentoring Program for Universities (MPU), with 23 mentors and mentees participating in the inaugural cohort.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak appreciated the HEC and NAHE for supporting the mentoring program throughout Pakistan. He remarked initiatives such as the MPU provide faculty members opportunities to share experience, improve professional skills and build stronger academic networks.

He continued that the experience would assist the university expand mentoring opportunities to peer-to-peer and student-focused initiatives in future phases.

According to the university, the mentoring sessions covered a number of areas, including academic leadership and governance, professional ethics, workplace effectiveness, digital and artificial intelligence tools, and career development and promotion pathways.

While female faculty and administrative professionals from the University of the Punjab, Punjab Higher Education Department and Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, participated as mentors and mentees, female staff members were given key responsibilities in program coordination and governance.
