Against the backdrop of the SIT report stating that irregularities took place in the Group-1 recruitments conducted during the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government, leaders of the Unemployed JAC, various student organisations, and unemployed youth staged a protest at the APPSC office in Vijayawada on Monday (August 17, 2026).

They demanded the resignation of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy from his MLA post, his arrest, and a CBI investigation into the matter.

Speaking on the occasion, Unemployed JAC State convenor Shaik Siddik demanded that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy withdraw from politics, taking responsibility for the irregularities in the 2022 Group-1 recruitments. Mr. Shaik Siddik alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had turned the constitutionally established Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) into “YSRCPSC” and paved way for irregularities.

He also called on the TDP-led NDA government to cancel the 2022 Group-1 recruitments and conduct the examinations afresh. Many unemployed youth participated in the protest.
