District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Tuesday (August 18, 2026) inspected arrangements at venues proposed for the visit delegates attending the BRICS Sports Ministers’ Meeting-2026.
At Rushikonda Beach, where a high tea is scheduled, the Collector directed officials to ensure cleanliness and facilities conforming to international standards. He also asked them to maintain the beach in accordance with Blue Flag standards.
At the Thotlakonda Buddhist Complex, the Collector directed office-holders to install a welcome arch and banners, arrange a local guide to explain the site’s significance and organise a photo session. He also ordered that visitors not be allowed at the site on August 22 and that advance information be displayed.
He, afterwards, inspected Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary and asked officials to examine the feasibility of including the Visakha Museum and Aircraft Museum in the final itinerary.
