After this practice session, First Team All-Pro defensive end Will Anderson Jr. Was asked for his first impression of the rookie quarterback.

" a ton of respect for him, " Anderson remarked. "I love his energy. I love the way he was cheering his O-line on – cheering his team on. He's going to be a really great quarterback in this league."

"I thought he did some good things, " head coach Klint Kubiak remarked of Mendoza's performance. "I look forward to watching the tape. But just he and his teammates, all these young guys that we're playing, we've obtained to secure them up to speed real quick."

"I think it's great to get the speed of the game because every group is fast, but the ones might be elevated a little bit more." Mendoza remarked, via The Athletic. "To obtain that speed of the game, be in there, be able to not only execute the play, but additionally command the huddle, see and read the defense pre-snap, post-snap. There's so plenty of different elements that I think are elevated and accelerated with that group."
