Khadi Board employee found unconscious, now in hospital

An employee of the Khadi and Village Industries Board was found unconscious profusely bleeding on the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises in Dharwad on Monday. He is now recuperating in a hospital.

According to preliminary reports, the 32-year-old employee identified as Shivaprasad Patil was found lying unconscious on the staircase of the Deputy Commissioner’s office building.

He is stated to have made an attempt to end his life by making a gash on his hand with a knife.

On noticing him, a senior official of the board alerted the police and he was rushed to the District Hospital, where he is recuperating now.

The Dharwad Suburban Station Police have registered a case. They are investigating.

Farmer dead

A farmer was found dead in his farmland at Kabbenrur village in Dharwad taluk on Monday.

The 28-year-old deceased, identified as Basavaraj Matawad, had reportedly sown brackgram in his 40-acre lease land and suffered losses due to dry spell.

His family members have in their complaint stated that the deceased borrowed ₹15 lakh from the bank. Dharwad Rural Police have registered a case.
